Kuala Lumpur Nightlife

Chic and trendy, KL urbanites live life to the max. With an influx of tourists and expatriates, the city's nightlife blossomed into one of the region's best. Offering some of the most cutting-edge clubbing to local night-outs chatting at mamaks - food stalls typically found at the roadside, there is an evening experience for everyone!

City Centre - Jalan P.Ramlee

This hip and happening nightspot is located just a few minutes' walk from the spectacular KLCC smack in the heart of KL. Put on your dancing shoes and rock the night away at clubs and bars. For those looking for some caffeine fix, you'll be spoilt for choice with a string of trendy cafe's.

Asian Heritage Row

Just next to the world class Sheraton Imperial Hotel, the Asian Heritage Row is a block of refurbished pre-war shophouses that has been transformed into bars, cafes, and restaurants. Here, exceptional international cuisine available include Vietnamese, Lebanese and Turkish.

Bintang Walk

This shopping paradise by day is transformed into a chic 'people-watching' strip in the evening. Lined with al fresco cafes, chilling out here is the ideal way to end your day of retail therapy.

Just outside the City Centre - Bangsar Baru

Featuring predominantly bars and pubs, Bangsar Baru has a few mainstays that managed to stand the test of time such as La Bodega, a tapas bar; Telawi Street Bistro (TSB), a popular restaurant and bar; and Alexis, a favourite cafe' among 'KL-ians' that serves local and Western cuisine.

Sri Hartamas / Mont ' Kiara

Desa Sri Hartamas is good for a quieter, 'chilled-out' night, when a game of pool, foosball or just plain coffee is in order.

Further into the suburbs

Kuala Lumpur's satellite towns such as Petaling Jaya and Subang also have entertainment districts. In Petaling Jaya, entertainment outlets are concentrated in the SS2 residential-cum-commercial district, while in the Subang Jaya township, the Taipan Triangle is most popular.

Pasar Malam

Another 'must-do' is visiting a pasar malam, or night market, for some especially good value shopping and dining. Like a travelling circus, pasar malam traders move from town to town, village to village and community to community nightly to peddle their wares. The renowned pasar malam in KL's Chinatown is open nightly. Other popular pasar malams on different nights are located at Bangsar Baru, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, SS2 and Subang Jaya.
